Colt works as a Digital Mechanic

So what's in a name?

Company founder and lead photographer, Colt Cubillos, spent much of his youth around his grandfather’s machine shop where he enjoyed fixing cars and using various tools in order to achieve specific results. "Working hard, getting your hands dirty and critical thinking was all part of the process" he says, often referring to himself as a digital mechanic.

Colt was born on a Sunday morning in the fall of 1977, to a full blooded Colombian father and true blooded Texan mother. Thus making Colt's upbringing that of a true hybrid. Being subject to many ideas, cultures, and perspectives helped forge his unique creativity, knowledge and talent.

Colt manipulates light using digital tools in order to create imagery that defies conventional aspect ratios. A Houston area native, Colt compliments traditional photography with a plethora of digital tools in order to “machine” the true nature of the architectural landscape. Hence the name, the Digital Machine Shop.
